Throughout the life of your Genie® equipment, and especially as your fleet ages, performing scheduled and preventative maintenance can minimize the risk of unforeseen repairs and breakdowns. And, when you have fewer unforeseen repairs, it can increase uptime and improve rental return on invested capital (rROIC) while decreasing your total cost of ownership.

In general, we recommend two types of maintenance on your Genie equipment: Scheduled inspections and hour-based servicing.

Scheduled inspections should be completed quarterly and annually. Genie service manuals contain checklists and procedures to guide you through these inspections. They include critical function checks and inspections of wear parts. This is your opportunity to assess the overall health and function of your machine, as well as to make proactive repairs before failure.

The second type of maintenance is hour-based servicing at set hour intervals —for example: 250 hours and 500 hours. These services generally include engine servicing,COPY - Plan Ahead Have the Right Parts on Hand to Minimize Downtime replacing filters and fluids and greasing critical bearing surfaces. Genie service manuals contain the specific hour intervals, as well as recommended servicing and parts replacement. For your machines that are equipped with Genie Lift Connect™ telematics, you can use the data to determine when the machine is due for maintenance and track your Genie fleet hours from a single online portal.

But, just knowing when and how to perform service and maintenance isn't enough. Having the right parts on hand — and, the ability to easily order and receive them — is equally important. Our goal is to make it easy for you to find and order your parts, and then make sure we have availability of our common maintenance and repair items.

To support your service and parts needs after-the-sale, the “Parts” Link on the parts.genielift.com website provides an easy way to search for parts by model, machine serial number or specific parts number. You can check on availability and pricing, place orders, check on the status of orders, request a return on an order and review an existing return. This tab also provides you with easy access to the parts manuals for your Genie equipment, making it easy to find the right Genie Genuine Part when you need it.

Need help figuring out which part to order? The Genie Smart Parts Serial Number Lookup System on parts.genielift.com can help you access the parts information you need quickly — with just a few clicks of your mouse. To help make the process as easy as possible, have your model name and serial number handy. From parts.genielift.com, click on the “Smart Parts Serial Number Lookup System” tab — the system will provide you a detailed parts list and diagram specific to your product.

Because we understand that planning ahead and having the right parts on hand is a simple way for you to minimize downtime related to routine maintenance and repair, and to help take the guess work out of parts ordering, Genie offers service kits filled with the parts and components most commonly consumed by routine maintenance procedures and machine operations. You can find these kits listed in most of our machine’s parts manuals. Some Genie service kits and parts to consider keeping in inventory include:

  • 250-hour and 500-hour Engine Service Kits
  • Battery Watering Kits

We want to make it easy for you to get what you need to maintain you fleet of MEWPs, and we are constantly looking for opportunities to expand our parts offering and improve our availability to meet your business needs. This includes offering you 24/7 technical support by phone or online if you ;have questions or would like to place an order. The parts.genielift.com website, and the Genie parts and product support teams, are here to ensure you are able to order the parts you need to perform regular inspections, routine maintenance and repairs, helping to ensure that your Genie fleet is ready to run when you — or your customers — need it.
