FEATURED - Guidelines for Safe Transportation of Your Genie® MEWP
As use of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) across different industries and applications continues to grow, understanding how to safely load and transport your Genie® MEWP is essential for safety, as well as to protect your investment.

While models and equipment types have their own set of requirements and procedures, a few important rules apply across models and equipment types:

Read Operator’s Manual. It will provide step-by-step instructions to ensure that you are able to load your MEWP safely and efficiently.

Prepare your MEWP to be loaded by ensuring that platforms, jibs, booms and axles are fully lowered and/or retracted and in transport position, as described in your Genie MEWP’s operator’s manual.

Watch out for hazards!
This includes tip-over hazards during loading and transport, and collision hazards resulting from limited sight distance and/or blind spots and overhead hazards such as power lines.

Tie down all items on the trailer/transport vehicle, as well as ensure your Genie MEWP is properly secured with tie-down chains or straps sufficient to withstand the machine’s weight.

Only qualified aerial lift operators should move the machine on or off the truck.
