Is Your Machine Up To Date

Registering your Genie®  machine is essential to get Genie safety notices and bulletins for your peace of mind.

In collaboration with Robbert van de Berg, who is in charge of Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) in the UK and at our European Distribution Centre (EDC) in the Netherlands, our Aftermarket Sales Support specialist Patrick van de Geuchte developed the Genie Safety Notices tool. Patrick explains why the registration of your machines is essential for safety and how this tool makes the process easier.

Why register my machines?

Genie requires that the seller or owner of a Genie® machine registers to Genie the model and serial number of each machine sold, as well as the name, address and telephone number of the new owner, within 60 days of the sale. Updating machine owner information will ensure that Genie is able to serve you and your customers’ support needs. This includes starting the warranty registration period and being made aware of any safety related bulletins applicable to your machine.

How?

You can register yourself and your product on: https://www.genieservice.eu/registrations/login.php. Once on the website, you should create a new account by clicking on the Register button. When your registration is complete, you will be added to the EMEAR Service Database and you will receive all the relevant Safety Notices & Campaign Bulletins applicable to your machine(s) serial number.

What if I have purchased a used Genie machine and the warranty period is over? Do I still need to register it?

Yes, of course. This is because you still need to be made aware of any safety related bulletins applicable to your machine, so that your product is up-to-date with any applicable safety standards. Is Your Machine Up To Date?

Where can I look up a Safety Notice or check whether an open Campaign Bulletin is applicable to my machine?

You can use our Genie Safety Notice Tool for Smart Phones and Mobile Devices. Type this address below in the web browser of your smart phone or tablet: http://webapp77.nl/genie. The first time it opens you will be asked to add it to your home screen. By accepting, the Genie icon will appear on your home screen.

How do I look up Genie Safety Notices and Campaign Bulletins?

The information contained in the bulletins is tied to specific machines using the machine model and serial number. Using the above search tool, once you correctly enter your Genie machine serial number (exactly as its displayed on the serial label eg Z3318M-1948), you can view any open bulletins reference numbers relevant for machines that require mandatory and immediate work to be undertaken.

What happens if my machine is an aged unit? Can I still find Safety Notices?

Yes. Our Genie Safety Notice Tool has recently been updated to include Safety Notices and Campaign Bulletins applying to any Genie machine that has ever been built.

Can I find information about machines purchased from a different country?

Yes. The Genie Safety Notice Tool contains global information about Genie machines. Wherever in the world the machine was first purchased, its serial number will allow you to to track down any applicable Safety Notices and Campaign Bulletins.
