The career of General Manager Brad Lawrence, who joined the company in 2000, combines solid financial expertise with a depth of operational experience.
After completing an Accounting degree at Griffith University, Brad became a CPA and undertook his MBA at Deakin University. For 15 years, he worked in corporate accounting roles, and then gained invaluable operations experience as the Queensland General Manager for Tennis Australia. In his six-year tenure, he oversaw all operations, including tournaments such as the Davis Cup.
Keen to move into the manufacturing/construction industry, he became Financial Controller for Terex AWP in 2000. Within a year, he had also taken on the responsibilities of Operations Manager, and by 2005 he was at the helm of the company as General Manager.
A highlight of Brad’s career at Terex AWP has been the implementation of the company’s 3 Year Strategic Plan. He looks forward to continuing to lead the team and to taking advantage of the opportunities that are ahead for the company.
“I’m continually trying to look at better ways of doing things, trying to improve every day,” says Brad. “That’s the journey — it’s a continuous improvement journey. That’s what excites me — how to do things better, how to do things differently, how to make our customers more successful. If you focus on those things, then you will succeed.”
