Factory Safety Training

Factory Safety Training

Genie offers Operator Safety and Train the Trainer courses in partnership with your local Genie Dealer. The Operator Safety Training Course combines both formal and hands-on training. Per the requirements set forth by OSHA and ANSI/SIA, all operators of Aerial Work Platforms and Telehandlers must be familiar with the controls and trained on the safe and proper use of the equipment prior to its operation. The Train-the-Trainer Course is designed to train and certify operators of Aerial Work Platforms and Telehandlers to become trainers themselves while adhering to the training requirements set forth by OSHA and ANSI/SIA.

Train the Trainer Online

Train the Trainer Online

Genie now offers qualified Aerial Work Platform operators the aerial lift industry's first online safety training program to help them become trainers themselves. This program is available online 24 hours a day, anywhere there is an internet connection, and in English, Spanish and French. Choose the time and location - we'll provide the instruction. This program is only intended for already qualified aerial work platform operators. To become a qualified operator, please contact your local Genie dealer.

Trainer Qualifications
Trainers must be qualified to present the training information for any training program they are using. OSHA and ANSI define a qualified person as: "…one who, by possession of a recognized degree, certificate, or professional standing, or by extensive knowledge, training, and experience, has successfully demonstrated his/her ability to solve or resolve problems related to the subject matter, the work, or the project.". This online training program does not qualify the trainee to be a trainer, but instead provides the necessary information to help them become a trainer. Trainers will need to have completed Genie "trainer training" and/or be capable of demonstrating that they are qualified to present the classroom and hands-on safety training material, kit number 72837 (English) 72837SP (Spanish) and 72837FR (French), based on the criteria established by the definition above. Trainers must comply with the responsibilities regarding training found in the ANSI Responsibilities Manuals including record keeping, and determination that trainees have successfully demonstrated that they are qualified to operate aerial work platform(s).

If you are a qualified operator and are seeking to become a qualified trainer, please contact your local Genie dealer for a username and password, and then visit the link below.

* Dealers – Please contact your local Genie sales representative for a username and password to be signed up as a Training Administrator.  Training Administrators will be able to register trainees for the online training courses.  Administrators are not required to be qualified trainers.
